------------ Dear Friends, Kerala Iyers Trust (KIT) received an appeal from Saraswathi mami through Mr. S Ramachandran seeking support for breast cancer treatment of her daughter Ananthalakshmi of Tripoonithara, Ernakulam. Quick Summary: KIT finds this case a very genuine & deserving one and proposes to raise an amount of Rs. 1 Lakh for this family to take care of the medical treatment of Ananthalakshmi. Ananthalakshmi is the daughter of Saraswathi mami, a good cook, who has provided her services in many Iyer family functions in & around Ernakulam KIT has taken a decision that any amount received in excess of Rs 1 Lakh would be kept in the KIT Corpus Fund and will be used to support any similar case in the future. ============

I am writing this for a medical assistance to one Smt. Ananthalakshmi of Tripoonithura. She is the daughter of Saraswathy mami who used to visit almost all brahmin houses in and around Ernakulam for cooking during functions. Her daughter is suffering from carcinoma of right breast and she is under the treatment of Dr. Gangadharan of Lakeshore Hospital, Ernakulam.The breast was removed and now she is undergoing Chemotherapy and radiation. The treatment costs are very high for this type and Saraswathy mami cannot afford such huge expenses. As I was a sufferer, I know the volume of cash required for each course of treatment. Ofcourse I helped her in the manner possible for me. Can you render some financial help through Pattars net samooham? Pl reply.

FIELD REPORT by Krishnanath, Ernakulam
Saraswathi Mami is well known to all the brahmins in and around Tripunithura with her culinary skills. She is 65yrs old and still does cooking at many brahmin houses for special occassions. Her daugther Smt. Anantha Lakshmi is suffering from cancer for the past 9 1/2 years. It was not known to anyone for the first 7 years and the treatment was started only 2 1/2 years back. She is now treated at Lakeshore hospital. She already had three surgeries and a CT scan is advised by the doctor to check the possibility of any spreading. Anantha Lakshmi's husband, Sri Narayanan was running a type writing institute at Kozhikode and it was closed an year back due to lack of students. Now he is a LIC agent. He is not able to do good business and present situation is like the job is just for name sake. AnanthaLakshmi Narayanan couple is having a daughter who is in her 12th standard studying at Tripunithura. Anantha Lakshmi is having 3 brothers and all of them are settled. Anantha Lakshmi's mother and brothers together, takes care of all the expenses of Anantha Lakshmi and her family including daughters education. Mr. Narayanan's parents and the younger are at Kozhikode and the younger brother is taking care of Narayanan's parents financially. Narayanan and AnanthaLakshmi is now staying at Kozhikode in a rented house (1500 INR per month). For the sake of medical treatment she was at Tripunithure in a rented house. Her mother and brothers together took and taking the responsibility of looking after her and her family including Anantha Lakshmi's daughter's education. They had spent almost 8 lakhs rupees only for the treatment. And the doctor had advised for more Chemotherapy. It seems for a chemotherapy session, it is costing 40 K INR Narayanan is not able to get any income to look after his family that includes Anantha Lakshmi's treatment, daughter's education or even their day to day affairs. With the help of Anantha Lakshmi's mother and brothers, she along with her husband and child is now surviving. Kerala Brahmana Sabha had given 10,000 INR to this family. Also there are well wishers like Sri Ramachandra Mama helping the family. Whatever we can do for this family will definitely be a helping hand. ============ |
